Through its subsidiary company, Darwin Shipping Limited, FIC operates the principal shipping service to and from the U.K.
Through an agreement the company utilizes space on the established Military Falkland Islands Resupply Service.
Vessels make regular round voyages approx every five weeks carrying a wide range of cargo including refrigerated goods, vehicles, plant and equipment and housing kits, as well as general foodstuffs and materials for everyday use by domestic consumers and commercial operations.
The vessels carry both standard and reefer containers, palletised and loose cargo. They operate between Marchwood Southampton in the U.K. and Stanley in the Islands. Both Ports have the ability to handle 40 foot containers and a cold storage facility of 900 tonnes is available in Stanley.
Darwin Shipping's service to the South Atlantic has offered calls on an irregular basis to Ascension Island, Tristan Da Cunha and South Georgia.
