Accounts Assistant

Accounts Department

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant at our Stanley Office. This role would suit someone wishing to start (or are perhaps in the early stages of) a career in finance. Full training will be given together with an opportunity to develop skills across all areas of the accounting function.

Duties and Responsibilities

Processing Data

  • Data entry – Sales Ledgers and Purchase Ledgers for all FIC Departments using Sage ERP 1000
  • Processing invoices for external and internal clients
  • Calculation of costings for retail departments
  • Data entry – transfers between retail departments
  • Processing Debtors ledger month end 

Other duties

  • Monitor and review outstanding invoices which will include chasing clients for payments
  • Assisting with the day to day queries from clients
  • Maintaining proper filing systems for the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
  • Performing Cashier Duties in the absence of the Cashier
  • Undertaking Banking Duties on a Rota Basis
  • Any other duties requested by the Office manager, Management Accountants, or Finance Director

Qualifications and Skills


  • Basic knowledge of, or experience in, accountancy and book-keeping
  • Strong understanding of the workings of an office
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and effectively
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Able to perform individually and as part of a team
  • Good time management skills
  • Good administrative skills
  • Driven and determined
  • Able to read, write and speak English


  • Experience using Sage ERP 1000
