Working with the Home Living Manager the position holder is responsible for supervising and assigning tasks to our team of Customer Service Assistants. The position holder would be expected to use their initiative to solve any issues or problems that would affect the operation of the business or team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Services

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Attend to customer needs promptly
  • Use initiative to approach customers
  • Process transactions using an electronic till
  • Deal with customer complaints in a manner that ensures they are satisfied
  • Supervise and train team to ensure they are providing excellent customer service
  • Provide customers with excellent levels of Customer service
  • Deal with customer complaints and enquires, providing the best possible outcome
  • Upkeep the personal appearance in line with company guidelines
  • Ensure that assistance is provided to supervisors in achieving sales targets
  • Utilise store items, making sure that the customer is offered the whole product range
  • Attract, engage and motivate customers into making purchases in store with excellent customer service, visual placement of goods and by providing detailed information
  • Assist with the maintenance of standards on the sales unit
  • Help keeping stock clean and presentable at all times
  • Assist in updating stock management reports
  • Other tasks reasonably within this job profile and person’s skills

Stock Control

  • Receive and check cargo
  • Rotate and check stock regularly
  • Ensure stock problems are communicated between team and management
  • Assist with stock taking duties as required

 Teamwork

  • Work well as part of a team and by yourself
  • Uses initiative to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Trains and supports colleagues to deliver service to accepted standards
  • Happy to work and support any other retail department
  • Follow instructions from management and communicate to the team
  • Works to resolve team issues using own initiative
  • Encourages flexibility and ensures shop is fully staffed for all shifts

Other

  • Opening and closing of the shop
  • Ensuring all monies for tills are issued at the start of the day and locked away at the end of the day
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are being followed correctly
  • Carry out Fire safety checks and be willing to be trained in First Aid.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Experience in in customer service
  • Experience in leading a team
  • The ability to read, write and speak English clearly

 Desirable

  • Driving License

Working conditions

This position usually works 45 hours per week over 6 days. Employees are required to be flexible to cover leave, illness or other unforeseen circumstances, including public holidays.

Additional Information

Required to stand for long periods of time. Lifting, moving and stacking boxes. Working in hot and cold environments. Ability to drive, stand for long periods of time, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and move heavier objects, and desirable is the ability to use equipment for heavy lifting.
