This year’s FIC Golf Competition was well attended with over 20 competitors taking the course. Falkland Islands Deputy Governor David Morgan won with an impressive 40 points, beating Ollie Hayward who scored 39 points.
FIC’s Penguin Travel opened an office at Mount Pleasant Complex to help British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI) personnel throughout the recently launched TRIP 2021/22 Scheme. BFSAI personnel based in the Falklands are given vouchers which can be redeemed against several tourist activities from adventurous training, guided tours, island visits, food and accommodation.

We were delighted to hand over a cheque worth £500 to Falklands Conservation. The funds were used for the Conservation Ball, the NGO’s annual fundraiser event.
The Falkland Islands Company are proud to receive the Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. FIC has been a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant since June 2021, reafirming the company’s commitment to supporting those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces.
The FIC will support dementia friends in Stanley by exposing around 10% of the total workforce to a dementia training course. These colleagues from customer-facing roles will then better understand how we can all better support those in our community who are living with dementia.
The Falkland Islands Company was awarded a contract by the Falkland Islands Government to improve roads, pavement and drainage at Murray Heights. Works are currently underway, led by the Haulage and Groundworks department.
FIC’s Haulage and Groundworks department was contracted by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Falkland Islands Government to deliver and set up a temporary camp at Darwin for use by representatives of the ICRC whilst they carry out works in the Falklands.
After several years of a poor road and footpath infrastructure within the Murray Heights Park, the Falkland Islands Government have awarded The Falkland Islands Company the contract to carry out improvement works.
